Processing Guidelines for Flame Retardant Additives

Adjust Processing Temperature Based on Plastic Type: Different plastics require varying processing temperatures. Ensure the temperature is suitable for the specific plastic to maintain the effectiveness of flame retardant additives.

Monitor Shear Strength in Twin-Screw Extruders: Strong shear forces can cause a sudden rise in temperature, potentially degrading some flame retardants. Optimize screw design and processing conditions to avoid excessive shear.

Clean Screws Thoroughly and Avoid Mixing with Antimony Trioxide: Ensure screws are clean before use. Do not mix or allow contact with antimony trioxide. To enhance dispersion and lubrication, consider adding white oil or EBS in appropriate amounts.
